GG's Mountain Retreats

ENJOY THE RUSTIC, ROMANTIC ELEGANCE OF GG's LOG SWEET

A luxury jacuzzi tub overlooks a wooded area with a trout-fishing stream.

Our luxury rustic suite provides a sweetly romantic getaway in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.

Far away from everyday cares, but easily accessible from Georgia Highway 5, this rustic cabin offers all the amenities, including a wet bar.

A luxury jacuzzi tub overlooks a wooded area with a trout-fishing stream. Or enjoy grilling your catch on the deck, which is surrounded by towering hardwoods.

Relax in front of a gas fireplace while enjoying your dinner or retreat to the cozy dining room with accommodations for four. Wifi is available throughout the cabin.

Grill on the deck as you enjoy the sounds of nature all around you.

The French doors lead to a private deck, where you can read a good book, relax with your favorite beverage, or watch the wildlife. Squirrels, birds and frequently deer and turkeys pass by the cabin on the way to Fightingtown Creek, one of the area's best trout and kayaking streams.

The kitchenette has all modern appliances, including a microwave and toaster oven. The dining area table seats four.

The master bedroom offers a queen-size bed with luxury cotton sheets.

The fall foliage is spectacular.

Take a walk in the back yard or throw a line in the rushing stream to catch brook, rainbow, or brown trout.

From GG's Log Sweet, it's minutes to Blue Ridge and the twin cities of McCaysville, Georgia, and Copperhill, Tennessee, where a blue line through the middle of town indicates the state line. Shop the quaint antique stores downtown.

About five minutes from the twin cities is Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park, where fly fishermen compete alongside kayakers and tubers to determine who is having the best time. The park has complete picnic facilities and a playground. It also features Pickin' in Horseshoe Bend Park each Thursday from May through September, where local and visiting musicians play mountain favorites to appreciative audiences.

Ten minutes down the road is the historic town of Blue Ridge, where you can browse antique and art shops or take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

On your way to Blue Ridge, stop by Mercier Orchards for pick-your-own fruit three seasons of the year. Take a tractor ride through the orchards or enjoy the air conditioning at the inside deli. Throughout the year, you can sample their fried pies and apple cider.

Blue Ridge offers mountain crafts, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and a waterfall tour. Just down the road from Blue Ridge is the historic Benton MacKaye Trail, which connects to the Appalachian Trail. Atlanta is less than two hours away.

About a half hour drive in Tennessee is the Ocoee Whitewater Center, the site of the 1996 Olympic kayaking event. Enjoy some serious fun at Wildwater Rafting, one of the top rafting companies in the nation. Or take a ride on the Ocoee River Basin Zipline Tour, 2.5 miles east of the Ocoee Adventure Center.
